YOUR FIRST VISIT

The New Members Co-ordinator will introduce you to the team and show you round the studio complex. He/she will explain some of the equipment we use, how the operation functions and advise you of what is planned for the evening.

At the end of the evening you'll be given some literature and asked to contact the new members co-ordinator later in the week after you have had a chance to reflect on the evening went and decided if you'd like to visit Radio Brockley again.

During the week you should receive an email asking you for some feedback on what you felt about your first time at Radio Brockley.

WEEK TWO

The New Members Co-ordinator will go into further detail about Radio Brockley. This will include an explanation of the hospital wards, the methods in which patients can hear us, the events we hold to raise funds to keep Radio Brockley going and some of the ways in which these are spent.

Your photograph will also be taken for ID purposes and you'll be asked to give us full contact details, if you haven't provided these already.

During the week you should receive an email asking you to provide full details of two referees, unless these were on your CV.

WEEK THREE

The Media Librarian will explain how the library works.

This will include what music we play, how the library is organised and how you can use the database to your advantage, to find exactly what you're after quickly and easily.

WEEK FOUR

The Membership Coordinator explains your development path.

You'll also be encouraged to monitor basic studio operation, in preparation for your voice test which can now be planned, assuming you'd like to go on air (not everybody wants to).

WEEK SIX

If your voice test has been passed by the Trustees and you would like to go on air, you may present requests during the Brockley Gold Request Show, which is held on Sunday evenings after Bingo. (Please note that, as a new member, the rules state that your first three months of programmes must be of a request show format).

WEEK TWELVE

If the Trustees are satisfied with your progression at Radio Brockley then you should be offered membership of the charity. Once you have paid a subscription and received your New Members Booklet, you will be entitled to the benefits of membership. These include access to the music library, use of the studio facilities and equipment, the right to vote at meetings and quarterly editions of our publication "Brockley News".

Welcome On Board!
